John Edwards to run for President
Thursday, December 28, 2006 at 5:12PM John Kerry’s ’04 presidential running mate, John Edwards, has announced his intention to stand for the Democrat nomination again. Edwards, who flattered to deceive in his televised debates with incumbent VP Dick Cheney, will be considered an outsider running against Democrat titans Hillary Clinton, former Virginia State Governor Mark Warner, and American politics’ rising star, Barack Obama. We should also not rule out a late move by Al Gore, but increasingly, this looks unlikely.

Edwards could yet become the darling of the blogosphere, but this blog doubts he will be able to survive the Tsunami of money the Clinton team will throw at the campaign, or that Edwards - even with his 2000 People Magazine "sexiest politician alive" accolade - will be able to match the raw panty-moistening charisma of Obama.

Sorry to be difficult but I should probably point out that: (a) Mark Warner's not the Governor of Virginia anymore and (b) he's already pulled out of the Presidential race.

Although I counter point B: on the 17th Dec his team hinted he may yet run, and with his history of cross-party co-operation, he may be seen as the sensible choice ('sensible' is not a word associated with the Dems however).
Why is it that several candidates are presented for the American caucuses - or any other electoral system - when lobbying afterwards chooses that who is the one to represent the party?
I dare say it is mock democracy.
