How to live 101

I hardly slept a wink last night, and our toddler woke at 6 am in a foul mood. With a probable nightmarish morning ahead, we decided the best thing would be to take him for a walk and keep him occupied.
We walked around the corner where there is a small supermarket. We made up our minds to buy bread, ryazenka, ham, cooked-sausage, cheese, croissants, juice, and go to Babushka’s for breakfast. The weather was absolutely beautiful, although in the shade it was quite refreshingly cool. We sat in Babushka’s little wooden dom (house) and Mrs. tyger and Baba gossiped busily in Russian while I filled my face with ham and cheese sandwiches, all washed down with a large glass of fresh-from-the-udder cow’s milk. Surely there is no other way to live?
I plan to spend the rest of today relaxing, writing, and looking after our sleeping boy while Mrs. tyger runs some errands. I expect plenty of chai (tea) will be drank!
I really should catch up on some sleep, but the golden silence in too good to waste.

Sounds fantastic - it's moments like the one you describe that help give meaning to all the other moments not like that. Good for you!
Yeah thanks Mack,
To be honest, I'm enjoying being away from 24-hr rolling news, and spending all day throwing mud at politicians!
