No, I never saw a cockroach in my whole time in the US, they seem to be a Spanish thing, like paella.
Te hehe
I thought NY was full of them? Clichés eh?
Cockroaches breed in warm climates, not only in Spain. Where I live in the Canary Islands, 650 metres above sea level, there are none. In winter you will see none in the Spanish mainland.
Paella is a Valencian dish, although it is cooked all over Spain and it could be cooked anywhere else provided you have the right ingredients. But I don't know why, it tastes better in Valencia. It is not difficult to make.
